Four militants shot dead in J&K

Security forces on Tuesday shot dead four alleged Pakistani militants crossing the border into Jammu and Kashmir, an army spokesman said.

The incident occurred in the border district of Samba, some 50 kilometres east of Jammu.

"A group of militants were crossing the Line of Control when they were intercepted in a joint operation by the army and the police," said Colonel Gulshan Kumar.

"Four bodies were recovered. The papers found on them showed them to be Pakistanis," Kumar said.

Other members of the militant group managed to escape back across the border into Pakistan.
