Three Pak soldiers killed

Three Pakistani soldiers were killed and as many injured when Indian troops retaliated to shelling from across the border since Saturday night, a senior army official said in Jammu on Sunday.

He said a civilian was killed and two were injured in Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control in Poonch and Rajouri sectors.

Brig Randhir Singh said that Pakistani troops resorted to mortar shelling and small arms firing on civilian areas and defence locations close to the LoC in Krishnagati and Noushera areas in which one Khadim Hassan was killed and two others, including a 10-year-old girl, were injured.

The Indian troops retaliated killing three Pakistani soldiers and injuring two others, while destroying three Pakistani bunkers in Kalal area of Noushera sub-sector and Jallas area of Krishna Gati sub-sector in Rajouri and Poonch sectors.

Exchange of fire took place at 22 different border outposts in R S Pura, Samba and Hiranagar sub-sectors of Jammu and Kathua districts, he said, adding that no loss of life or property was reported.
