Spy hawk caught in Rajasthan

A Pakistani spy hawk fitted with an antenna and other equipment was caught by Border Security Force personnel at Shahgarh-balj in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, a BSF official said on Monday.

The hawk was first seen on Sunday on an electric pole and it later landed on their vehicle probably in search of food and water, the official said.

The hawk was flying beyond the Pakistani range as the electronic gadgets were not functioning when it was caught, he said.

This is the third successive year when BSF personnel encountered with spy hawks along the international border.

The hawk has been handed over to the forest and wildlife department, according to the official.
