Naxals blow up TDP legislator's house

The ancestral house of a Telugu Desam Party legislator was blown up by the outlawed People's War Group in Mahbubnagar district in the wee hours on Monday.

According to reports reaching the state police headquarters in Hyderabad, seven Naxalites went to G Jaipal Yadav's house at Chelampally village near Kalwakurthy town and blew it up.

The MLA was away in Hyderabad at the time. An old woman who lived in the house was injured. She was moved to a local hospital where she was reported to be out of danger.

In another incident, three extremists belonging to the Jana Shakti group were killed in an encounter with the police on Sunday night.

A police party conducting combing operations spotted a group of Naxalites in the forest about 7km from Epur town in Narasaraopet subdivision of Guntur district. In the exchange of fire that followed, three extremists were killed.
