Pak bans political meetingsClose on the heels of US President Bill Clinton's South Asia visit, Pakistan has banned all outdoor political meetings, strikes and processions. According to The Nation, ''a countrywide ban on all political meetings at public places, strikes and processions has been imposed by the interior ministry with immediate effect and for an indefinite period of time''. This is the first ban on political activity since General Pervez Musharraf seized power in a bloodless coup last year. EXTERNAL LINKS Pakistan bans political rallies
