Speaker admits notice on Bihar under Rule 184

E-Mail this report to a friend

Speaker G M C Balayogi informed the Lok Sabha today that he has admitted a notice received from the Rashtriya Janata Dal members on a discussion under Rule 184 on the propriety of allowing the National Democratic Alliance leader Nitish Kumar to form the government in Bihar.

The rule entails voting after discussion.

The notice was received from former minister Raghuvansh Prasad and six other RJD members. This was the second notice given by them.

The first notice on the issue was received from them on March 8. In view of the changed situation, the members had given fresh notice on the subject and this was accepted by him.

The date and timing would be decided by the business advisory committee, Balayogi said.

Later came a denial from Civil Aviation Minister Sharad Yadav that he had criticised the Bihar governor Vinod Pande for inviting Nitish Kumar to form the government. He said the attribution by the media that he had made such a statement at a press conference in Jammu was not based on facts.

Somnath Chatterjee (Communist Party of India-Marxist) had raised the issue during zero hour.
