The Madhya Pradesh government has arrested two Naxalites, one of them a woman, for their alleged involvement in the murder of the state minister Likhiram Kanware.

The Naxalites were nabbed in the forests of Kanker district, the police said.

They have admitted that they took part in the conspiracy meeting which was held in Rajnandgaon district, police sources said.

According to the statement they made to the police, the meeting took place in the second week of October in which their commander, deputy commander and the members of central organisation committee of Naxalites and the Balaghat committee members were present. It was here that a decision to kill the minister was taken.

It was also decided in the meeting to target some traders because they were not paying the extortion money for the Naxalite cause, the police said.

Sushila aka Shanta, the woman Naxalite and her husband told the police that they have links with other terrorist organisations as well.
