E-Mail this report to a friend

At least three Amarnath pilgrims, including two women of a family, were killed and seven others injured when their Maruti van plunged into a 300-feet deep gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Thursday evening.

Officials told UNI that the van was on its way to the Pahalgam base camp when it collided with an autorickshaw near Banihal.

All three occupants of the car died on the spot.

Senior police and civil officials have rushed to the spot.

The deceased, identified as Sanjay Jaswal, Laxmi Jaswal and Sapna Jaswal, hailed from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.
