Co-pilot A S Bagga cremated

The body of Captain A S Bagga, co-pilot of the Alliance Air Boeing 737 that crashed in Patna on Monday, was cremated at the Lodhi Road crematorium in New Delhi on Wednesday in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Sharad Yadav and a large number of Alliance Air and Indian Airlines employees.

The body of a passenger G R Singhal was also consigned to flames this morning.

IA Chairman and Managing Director Sunil Arora, Alliance Air MD A K Goyal and hundreds of members of the flying fraternity in uniform were among the mourners.

Bagga's widow and parents were inconsolable and broke down at the time of the lighting of the pyre.

Yadav, civil aviation secretary A H Jung and Arora placed wreaths on the body.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Chaman Lal Gupta in a message from London conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims.

Gupta has been in constant touch with the ministry to see that all help humanly possible has been orgnaised for the survivors and the relatives of the victims.
