THE Central Bureau of Investigation raided the residences of former Bihar health ministers Dilkeshwar Ram, Mahavir Prasad and C K Basu in connection with the medicine scam.

Dilkeshwar was health minister in various Congress ministries in the 1980s while Prasad was the health minister in Rabri Devi government till the last assembly elections.

At present, he is an Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA from Ghanshyampur but he was not offered a ministerial post.

Basu, a senior Indian Administrative Service officer, was health minister when the scam broke out.

The income tax had raided Prasad's house last year in connection with the scam.

The scam surfaced following irregularity in the supply of medicines to government dispensaries.

The CBI is raiding homes of junior officers and suppliers simultaneously.
