NetIP Annual Conference in SFThe Network of Indian Professionals San Francisco Bay Area will be hosting the ninth Annual NetIP North America conference during Labor Day weekend at Hyatt Embarcadero in San Francisco. Empowering south Asians for the New Millennium is the theme of the conference, which is expected to draw 1,000 attendees. The last conference held in Toronto addressed such issues as leadership, health and balancing careers with inner life. The conference will address the professional needs of NetIP members and provide them with the tools to make a difference for themselves and their communities. Its four main topic tracks are technology, political and social issues and media and entertainment. The annual event will also have a number of networking activities and a company showcase that allows the participants to look at new companies, their products and review job prospects. The organizers are looking for volunteers for a number of committees: Registration: Volunteers will manage various aspects of pre-conference registration, help design/develop the informational packages for attendees and handles registration issues during the conference. Activities: Chores include creating and executing the conference activities for attendees, developing conference track topics and recruiting and obtaining speakers for the conference. Site/Transportation: Ensuring the execution of the events, including the layout of the conference facilities and timing of activities, transportation logistics and working with all committees for matters involving space, activities, food and maintaining internal communications. Marketing/Communications: Creating marketing materials (including the conference web site, advertising, organizing newspaper articles (pre- and post-conference) etc. Fundraising: Networking with potential sponsors and raising money to help support the conference. Finance: Managing all accounting and finance-related issues. The Ninth Annual Conference Co-Chairs are: Seema Bhimani, Sangita Patel, Manish Patel, Priya Parthasarthy, Chirag Patel, Anjan Nadimpalli, Camille Ramani, Tina Shah and Ader Gandi.
