30 killed in HP bus mishap

Some 30 people were killed when a passenger bus plunged into a river near the northern Indian hill town of Chamba today, the PTI reported.

It said the bus driver lost control and the vehicle veered into the fast flowing Kalhel river near Chamba, a former British resort in the mountainous Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The police were looking for possible survivors, private television networks said.
