Message:Why are we keeping these criminals in our jails for such a long time? Dossiers of these terrorists indicate that they have committed henious crimes. If the punishment had been swift (death penalty for killing several Indian citizens and waging war against the state), the criminals like Azar will be long gone and there would have been no reason for the terrorists to hijack the plane for the release of these demented people. Our government has to explain why they have been keeping these terrorists in our jails for five years? As far our home minister is concerned, he has proved to be tough talking, no acting minister (as the saying goes, barking dog never bites). We need a soft talking, tough acting home minister.

Message:Vajpayee govt. has been a big disgrace. They should not have bowed to the terrorist. What is the difference between the Vajpayee govt. and V P Singh's govt. Both seem to be equally spineless. Where they would have freed only one terrorist on the first day itself and spared the passengers such a long ordeal. They have played into the hands of the Taliban and Pakistan and literally made a fool of themselves and India and instead released three terrorists. The Taliban has executed everything to precision and must now be laughing over our stupidity. Not only have they helped the terrorists but also created a very positive image for themselves by pretending to help. It won't be long before India is declared an Islamic state if these state of affairs continue. What a great black way to start the new century. Our deepest sympathies to the three service chiefs and our soldiers. Be prepared for some more morale boosting episodes like this.

Message:India Govt. has done the blunder by realising three (or four according to Rediff news) hardcore terrorists. This might lead to more blackmailing. After releasing Mufti's daughter in 1989, we did a big mistake, which lead to another few kidnapping cases to get the release of others. But the India govt. at that time took a very strong position and didn't release any of them. That was a strong message sent to those terrorists. But again releasing the terrorists, India has showed her cowardness. The fame we got by winning Kargil is lost now. It seems we can a won a battle of physical power, but not that of a nerve. Its a shame for us. I am really surprised, why the govt. act so hastily after waiting for seven days and at a time when the whole nation was against release of terrorists? My last question - can anyone find out whether any of the hostages is a relative to some politician or big businessman/industrialist?

Message:Hi I am extremely disappointed with the only govt that I had faith in. How could they release 3 militants. I would have even understood if only Azhar was released but zargar, the son of a bitch should never never have been released. I hope they at least injected some AIDS virus or some such thing in their system before releasing them. A sad sad day. A worse New Year than I had anticipated. Now what. Are they increasing their crackdown in Kashmir or just giving it up. Just hand it over to them and then I want Maharashtra as my own country. I probably should start an agitation with the help of the bastard pakis to accomplish this. Non Nationalistic Kashmiris should all be whacked till they get their senses back on track. They are like the spoilt child used to too much concessions. A sad day which will never be forgotten.

Message: The hijacking clearly shows Pakistani as well as the Taleban involvement. I think these people who are fighting the so called 'Islamic wars' are SICK in their mind. One look at them shows that they are 'butchers', their only aim in life being to kill innocent people. I wish India gets very vocal about all that has happened and reiterates to the world about Pakistan being a 'Terrorist nation'. Kargil should not be forgotten. These militants should be taught a lesson. Also it is so shameful that Pakistan is still our most favoured nation. They are a 'BIG CURSE' on India and its people. It is a good decision by the govt. to have armed commandos aboard the Indian airlines (better late than never).

Message:The decision by the Indian govt to relase 3 milits would demoroalise the spirit of the armed forces/police/intelligence authorities fighting Insurgency in Kashmir. It would embolden the Terrorists and Pakistan. The international community would care a damn since India took a compromising attitude both with Taliban (which US loathes) and in the Kidnapping issue. Message:India made mistake at Amritsar airport. All this story may be ended here only.I think Indian goverment shows laziness too much in contacting the hijackers for their demand & the problem would be solved better in India only. Whether the attack by commondos or dialoges could be shared with hijackers about their demand. As we made now , As news shows that armed to the hijackers had provided at KAndhar airport to hijackers.it means that they were not having too much weapons with them but they tried to show through PILOT of aircraft that they are having heavy weapons with them & all belived that this would be danger to attack on hijackers. In the end I would like to vote that we made mistake at Amritsar airport.I also want to say that all aircraft must carry at least two trained commandos with each every flight in civil dress with weapons for the safty of passangers.

The govt should have stayed away from the beginning saying that it cannot be responsible. It should at least declare that henceforward it will not be responsible for the security of its citizens outside its territory and those venturing outside were doing so at their own risk and that no attempt will be made by the Govt to rescue them.

But actually he had done more harm by first introducing the so called Mandal system, which caused casted polarisation & now, releasing the JKLF dreaded members for the sake of a minister's daughter. The politicians should set an example by holding to morally high grounds by refusing to surrender to the ultimatums. I feel, vp singh is the real culprit, and I would say he is a bruit in Indian politics

Message:Ordinarily i would not support release of terrorists, but when a government fails to take adequate precautions to protect its citizens, then it is forced to compromise. I hope we will learn lessons from this. 1) we have to improve security at airports, including foreign ones. 2) we should have atleast two commandoes on every flight. 3) Improve our intellience, coordinate with like minded countries like isreal and usa. 4) we have to become economically strong, so that there is no hesitation when western countries have to decide between india and terrorist states and we know who they are. It would be very interesting to see where these terrorists find welcome. Thanks god our passengers are back in one peace.

Message:Alas, my heart is petrified at the thought of our nation being led by senile leaders with no sense of self-esteem or pride. Our national interest! What is that? Pride and fortitude! These are not in our Indian dictionary. Are they really? In our present day lives! Our parents do not inculcate in us the virtues of a warrior and patriotism, even in light of national interests. Our leaders do not know what they are, for the basis behind their success is nothing but a cache of lies, cowardice and self-interests. Achieving independence over fifty years ago was just a quirk of fate. I now wonder whether it was a good thing after all. Our spineless souls should have just let British rule us over for centuries to come. There would have been a chance in the present situation that under slavery, at the least, we might have been forced to stand up and face challenges with true grit and a firm hand. Bose, Shivaji, Patel are but figments of our imagination. Or so it seems, whenever I now look at invalids like our PM and Defense minister. Is our whole nation, without being partial to the leaders at the top, not a big hoard of maggots? When a billion of us are thrown into a pit together, we just slip and slide on top of one another trying to reach the boundaries of the secure land above, if necessary at the cost of our mates. There is no accountability in our leadership. We as citizens, on the other hand, are incapable of doing anything but gasp, sigh and murmur and write letters like these. Our defense minister is not accountable for leadership and decisiveness at times when they are of utmost significance to our integrity. Our PM has no backbone to begin with, so he is free to go and compile another one of his insipid speeches: "We will not succumb to the demands of the terrorists... Is that what I said at first! We could have acheived their release very first day if we wanted to release 3 terrorists. We are very proud when our jawans sacrifice lives to protect our borders and kashmir against insurgents. However, when it comes onto us we become cowards. Once government started getting support from relatives of hostages, they should never have backed down. You can't always play diplomatic war sometimes you have to play real war. Unless, we learn to act tough we will continue paying such price. We messed it up in Amritsar and then again messed it up in Afghanistan. We should praise the only brave man among hostages i.e Mr Rupin Katyal. The way he was stabbed makes it very clear that hostages had virtually no hitech weapon with them till the time the plane was in Amritsar. We should all condemn the forces in power for ignoring the national interest.

Is this the way we want to get 155 people released to get 155** xx people killed. This is a very bad decision and step. At the least now the govt should give the army a free hand to tackle militants. Once you give the hijacker 6 days while you worry about it, he understands that he is in a stronger position and can demand much more. If at all anything needs to be done soon. 2. Its just not possible to storm the plane without Afghan permission, etc. because first its illegal, second it is hasty and third it is irrational remember that the hijackers are also going to keep track of every movement outside the plane. 3. Message:As is usual, we cave in. The Indian government is learning fast to be like the Indian cricket team. It has star performers but you just need to put a fresh face like Brett Lee on an unfamiliar ground like Australia and we collapse. Similarly, give the Indian government Kandahar, a hijack on hand and they collapse. Now, these militants, terrorists will go around and kill at 160 more people except that these people will be in uniform and so no one in the country will care. After all, they are paid to die. Our men in uniform. And our sad and spineless government does not realise that the battle of terror is not fought only on the streets but in the mind. It is the mind space that needs to be taken but then these are wise honourable men who love stabbing their own country. Even more pathetic is the relatives of the hostages who went about behaving as if their grief was the only thing that matters to a country. India is above 160 people. 10,000 lost their lives in Orissa. 600 in Kargil. Do they count ??? Shame on you traitors to our great country. Shame on you for being so weak for making others so weak. By releasing these hardcore terrorists, they may have saved some lives but put thousands of other lives in jeopardy. This could prove to be a very costly deal for India. This will have an adverse effect on the morale of our security forces who are courageously battling terrorism in Kashmir. Brokering the release of three hard-core terrorists ? Shame on Jaswant Singh again for sharing an aircraft with the three terrorists. What did he think he was delivering ? A Xmas or New Year's gift? I can't even imagine a cabinet minister handing over a bunch of terrorists in exchange for the passenger's freedom. And who is he to say that the hijackers have been given 10 hours to leave Afghanistan ? Did he think he was making a policy statement on behalf of the Taliban ? Is this the BJP that we thought was "nationalistic". BJP promised us that it would take a hard line against terrorism. In the past few weeks since its assuming office we have seen an escalation of militancy in the Kashmir region. I am ashamed of our spineless response to this hijack episode. They were very Happy on their release, and two days later will give statements like the militants were very human and very friendly and what not, F@#? .They should be ashamed of themselves that their nation had to pay a heavy price for their release. It would have been better if India had done away with these 155 cowards, who were busy playing cards and chess rather thinking of some way to kill the hijackers. Think of the army man who have lost their lives in arresting militants like Masud, all their sacrifice have gone in vain. Its very sad that Indian govt instead of starting an operation has released the militants. They even didn't consult the chiefs of three command. The release of these three is not just release of three but its the beginning of many more hija Media is also in some sense is responsible for all that has happened. So there is no big deal for India to deal with such low level militants.Only main thing is that we should be determined in weeding out these mean minded militants. Government of India is a mixture of different parties, nobody wants to take the risk at this situation.Even we have an able PrimeMinister, but his hands and legs are tied.(I think so).Not only now India sold out national interest now, since V.P.Singh was prime minister ,he sold out national interest for desh ki beti (Rubia Sayeed)!.He gave number of militants for only one. Those militants killed and raped so many betis of India. What action taken? no. When PVN was there as PM, he freed nine militants for one Director.Where the national Interest gone at that time. Kashmir is nodoubt it's a part of India.Nothing will impact on kasmir insurgency. Only solution for India is take a very strong action against millitants and proper attacks on militant's camp.I know it takes time,i don't know how many innocents will pay there lives. If we won't take action in immediate,no doubt in future militants hijack anything. That becomes fun for them. They must show proof of responsible actions on their part to be prepared for any future emergencies.
