Message: He brought honour to the country and treat to all music lovers. All that he has left on record is his gift to us but his biggest gift is his son, Zakir. In Zakir, we can see his reflections and remember him. I can never forget a concert I had witnessed in Stuttgart in Germany in 1989 when he and Zakir performed to a packed house and got a standing ovation. My condolences to the family and the country is with them.

Message: I loved the tabla because of Ustad Alla Rakha's wonderful art. Altough I am not an Indian and do not live in India, Alla Rakha's art gave me the essential features of the music and also gave me the pleasure to learn and play tabla. I always dreamed if one day I could watch him performing on stage. By his death I lost my chance to see him but I will listen to his art in my all life.
