Militants attack Pandits' houses, 3 killed

Three Kashmiri Hindus including an eight-year-old girl and a police constable were killed at Telwani, Anantnag, south Kashmir.

Anantnag Superintendent of Police Farooq Ahmad Khan also escaped two attempts on his life, sources said. They said militants attacked Khan's convoy twice as rushed to Telwani immediately after the attack on the Pandits' houses.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Anantnag) Raja Aijaz Ali told rediff.com that unidentified militants attacked the guarded houses of Kashmiri Pandits around 2300 hours last night, killing the girl on the spot. Two others have been injured in the attack.

He said the injured have been shifted to a Srinagar hospital.
