E-Mail this report to a friend

Undisclosed assets worth more than Rs 10 million have been detected by the Income Tax officials during a raid at the residence and other premises of Congress leader Rajkamal Singhania in Raipur this week. The officials completed their search operations on August 24.

I-T Deputy Director (investigation) P K Mishra told reporters on Thursday that Rs 1.3 million in cash and gold jewellery weighing more than two kilograms were also seized from Singhania's residence.

Several documents seized during the raid were yet to be scrutinised, he said. The exact details of the undisclosed assets would be known after going through the documents, he added.

Mishra said that a summons had been issued to Singhania on Wednesday to appear before the investigating officials for verification of the seized documents. However, he declined to accept the summons, Mishra added.
