South-bound trains cancelled

Several trains scheduled to leave for the south from various places in the north have been cancelled till further notice due to the derailment of eight coaches of the Sirpur Kagaznagar-Secunderabd Express on the South-Central Railway on Monday.

The trains are the Dakshin Express and Nizamuddin-Coimbatore Express from Hazrat Nizamuddin station in Delhi, Jammu Tawi-Kanyakumari Himsagar Express, Jammu Tawi-Madras Andaman Express and the Navyug Express from Jammu Tawi to Tiruchirapalli and Mangalore, Lucknow-Madras Express, Ganga-Kaveri Express from Varanasi, Patna-Madras Express and the Varanasi-Secunderabad Express.

This was announced in New Delhi on Wednesday by chief public relations officer of the Northern Railway Chandralekha Mukherjee.
