Home secretary leaves for talks with Hizb

E-Mail this report to a friend

A two-member home ministry team headed by Union Home Secretary Kamal Pande today left for Kashmir to discuss the modalities of talks with Hizbul Mujahideen.

The team is likely to hold negotiations with Fazl Haq Qureshi, the person nominated by HM as its interlocutor, official sources said.

Special secretary in the ministry, M B Kaushal, is accompanying Pande.

The team's departure comes after the government stated in Parliament yesterday that the ruthless killings by militants would not deter it from holding talks with HM.
