Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief Saturday said his country would sign the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty if the atmosphere of coercion is removed.

''Pakistan has become an economic power and does not feel the need for more explosions,'' he said.

Asked whether Pakistan would sign the treaty during his visit scheduled visit to the United States in June, Sharief said: ''We would consider (signing) if the atmosphere of coercion was sincerely removed.''
