2 girls shot in Srinagar for wearing jeans

Militants have shot dead two girls for wearing jeans in Srinagar.

In another incident, a security personnel was injured when militants lobbed a hand grenade in a public place.

A self-styled battalion commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen surrendered and another was captured with 750 gms of RDX and a grenade, a report said.

In a search operation, the security forces seized 7.5 kg of explosives, 21 electric detonators, six improvised explosive devices and 24 rucksacks in the Rajauri district.

Pakistani troops fired 21,400 rounds of ammunition, 485 mortar and artillery shells and 3,840 rounds heavy machine gun ammunition in Siachen and across the Line of Control. In these exchanges, three soldiers in Naushera and Poonch lost their lives.
