Ananda Shankar passes away

Well-known music composer Ananda Shankar died at a Calcutta nursing home this morning.

He was 56.

He is survived by his wife Tanushree Shankar, an actress, and a daughter.

Son of world famous dancer Uday Shankar and nephew of sitarist Ravi Shankar, Ananda Shankar breathed his last at 0845 hours, his wife said.
