Sack Advani, Joshi and Uma Bharti: Jaya

E-Mail this report to a friend

Firing yet another salvo against her erstwhile ally, the Bhartiya Janata Party, All India Anna DMK chief, J Jayalalitha, today demanded that Prime Minister A B Vajpayee seek the resignation of Union Home Minister L K Advani and two others others, accused of criminal misconduct in the Babri Masjid case.

In a statement at Madras, she said President K R Narayanan should take appropriate steps to remove the three.

She said alleged that when her partyman, former Union Minister for Surface Transport Sedapatti Muthiah was chargesheeted, Vajpayee had sought his removal from the Union cabinet. The people expect Vajpyee to act likewise in the case of Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti, who were facing a similar situation now, she added.

It was time he acted firmly in dealing with Advani and others, instead of turning a blind eye to the criminal charges levelled against them, she said.
