BJP rejects Mamta's proposal

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday rejected Trinamul Congress leader Mamta Banerjee's suggestion for a national government headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

"We don't agree. The coalition government is going well and we should only think about strengthening this government," BJP general secretary M Venkaiah Naidu said.

When pointed out that the suggestion has come from an ally, Naidu said the BJP did not subscribe to the view.

"There is no need for a national government," he said.
