Protestor against Pak tour dies

Palani, a 36-year-old activist of the Hindu Munnani, who attempted self-immolation on January 20 to protest against the Pakistan cricket team playing on Indian soil, died in the government Royapettah Hospital early today.

Palani, an autorickshaw driver, was admitted to the hospital with 80 per cent burns.

He had set himself ablaze at Pudupet shouting slogans against the visit of the Pakistan cricket team.
