Ramadoss asks Jayalalitha to adopt 'healthy tactics'

S Ramadoss, founder leader of the Pattali Makkal Katchi, a constituent of the front led by the All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, today said the support of no party, much less the AIADMK, was required for the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government to complete its full term. He also asked AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha to adopt 'healthy tactics' in dealing with the BJP leadership.

Addressing the media, he said the BJP's allies should realise that the Vajpayee government would last its full term even without support from any of them. He added that he inferred this after recent talks he had with BJP leaders in Delhi and pointed out that Jayalalitha had openly declared her party's continued support to the Vajpayee government.

Expressing confidence that good sense would prevail among the allies from Tamil Nadu, he said the AIADMK, the PMK and the Marulmalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam would get ministerial berths in the Union cabinet after December 23.

Tamil Nadu would get increased representation at the Centre and the allies would get key portfolios like civil aviation and telecommunication, enabling the state to get more central projects for its development, he added.

Referring to the alleged atrocities committed by the Dalit Panthers of India in Cuddalore district, he claimed that the DPI was sowing the seeds for a caste conflagration in the district as in the southern districts.
