Veerappan's aide surrenders

Murthy (36), an aide of forest brigand Veerappan surrendered before a judicial magistrate at Sathyamangalam in Erode district of Tamil Nadu, yesterday.

Murthy was wanted in connection with the kidnapping of Krishnaswamy, legal adviser to the Tamil weekly Nakkeeran and a photographer.

The magistrate, Pauldurai, has remanded him to judicial custody.
