JMM emerges stronger after merger

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-Soren received a shot in the arm when Bihar's former minister and Lok Shakthi's Jharkhand regional committee chief Puranchand merged his outfit with the Morcha.

Puranchand joined the Morcha along with his office bearers and supporters in Gumla yesterday during the JMM's launching of the month-long Jharkhand Mukti Yatra in 18 districts of south Bihar to expose the forces opposed to creation of separate state.

Welcoming the merger, JMM vice president Suraj Mandal said time had come for all Jharkhand factions to merge their outfits in the Morcha and renew the five-decade-old struggle unitedly for realisation of the statehood.

Mandal, vice-chairman of the Jharkhand Areas Autonomous Council, while addressing the rally said all pro-Jharkhand parties must unite on a common platform to press the centre for introduction of the Bihar State Reorganisation Bill 1998 in the winter session of Parliament. He called upon the people to be prepared for a decisive fight if the said bill was delayed further.
