Jaya loves to keep the PM in suspense

A little suspense adds flavour to life, quipped All India Anna DMK general secretary J Jayalalitha, while replying to a question on whether she had set any deadline to Prime Minister A B Vajpayee for dismissing the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government in Tamil Nadu.

She was briefing newspersons after an AIADMK executive meeting at the party headquarters in Madras this afternoon.

Asked if it was true that she was impatient to get the DMK regime dismissed, she said patience was a necessary requisite for politics. "Those who have patience will rule the world," she quipped, quoting a Tamil proverb.

She said the AIADMK stood by its demand for the dismissal of the DMK government in the state in view of the deterioration of the law and order situation .

Asked about Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy's plea to her to set a deadline for the dismissal, she said: "Swamy has the right to express his views."

On whether Dr Swamy, who has turned extremely critical of the BJP, was still part of the AIADMK-led front, she said: "Yes, he is still with us."

Asked why Dr Swamy was not being invited to the August 2 meeting organised by the AIADMK to celebrate the victory of the AIADMK-led front in the state, she smiled and said: "Wait and see. Even he is not bothered about the meeting. Why are you?"
