Jaya to seek AG's nod to prosecute Karunanidhi

All India Anna DMK general secretary J Jayalalitha today said she was planning to seek the attorney general of India's sanction to prosecute Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, for alleging that she was trying to stifle the voice of justice by exploiting legal loopholes and that she was prolonging the outcome of the judicial verdict in the cases against her.

In a statement in Madras, she said the allegations which Karunanidhi had made at a May Day rally in the city constituted contempt of court, as they pertained to the pending judicial proceedings against her. "Such charges are calculated to obstruct the administration of justice by creating an atmosphere of prejudice against me," she added.
