Subject: Militants gun down 25 Hindus

That Rediff has not published this news as its headline itself proves the fact that this is "yet" another "barbaric act," and soon people will get accustomed to fortnightly bloodletting by goons from across the border. What happened to L K Advani's "active pursuit" theory?

Subject: Kashmiri killings: Islamisation of the Valley, the true picture

The religious ethnic cleansing that is being gruesomely carried out in J&K for the last so many years deserves the severest of responses from the Government of India. I'm appalled at the apathy of the secular (???) parties.

Whenever such atrocities are committed against Kashmiri Hindus, all we ever have from them is a press statement more banal and disgusting than the words themselves suggest, or perhaps a visit to gain some political mileage over the spilled blood of harmless, innocent victims butchered with the arms and ammunition purchased from money across the borders and across the seas from Islamic nations. Butchered as a voiceless goat -- butchered because successive incompetent Indian governments believed and still believe (???) in talking rather than acting.

Get rid of all the Hindus in the valley and when it's filled with Muslims, raise the demand for having Islam as the sole guiding authority in J&K, which all Muslims would agree gleefully. Does one need to be really intelligent to guess which would win between the Holy Quran and the (Unholy) Indian Constitution? Once we reach this stage, is India minus Kashmir too difficult to imagine? Even the plebiscite demanded by Pakistan would become redundant as you would have none to vote against a voice calling for Islamic authority as the supreme judging entity, and for the Constitution of India with its secular and hence non-Islamic outlook.

Are you listening Ms Sonia, Mr Somnath Chatterjee and all the Laloos and Mulayams of this country? I'd be too surprised if a Syed Shahabuddin or a Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi would come forward to utter a single word against this barbaric act.

Women and children are spared: What message would these barbaric killers want to send to the world? How can it be forgotten that time and again, day in and day out, Kashmiri Hindus and especially the Pandit community women were raped repeatedly? Which secular political party took up their cause? Now, this act of theirs suggests a change in strategy, or is it too early to conclude? Get the world (primarily, the Islamic countries) to sympathise more with their cause, as only heroes fighting for a just cause would spare women and children, and have more Islamic money pour in to eliminate the non-Muslims.

What are you doing Mr Advani? It's time you moved from empty press statements to flushing the militants out. Well isn't it also time that a large section of the press started calling them Islamic warriors rather than just militants, and that the Indian government mercilessly crushed these religious sycophants without caring a hoot for the opinion of the international (Islamic) community, and the so-called secular parties.

In this moment of shock, one's heart weeps in agony for the bereaved families. I join my countrymen in asking the home minister: This is the last incident that one would want to hear. Can you make this happen?

Subject: 25 Hindus killed in J&K

Before I express my anguish and outrage at these heinous killings, let me pause and thank the reporter, Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar for his very informative report. People are sick and tired of reading phrases like, "25 people gunned down," "Two communities clash," "People belonging to the other community started throwing stones from within the place of worship," etc etc.

Mr Ahmad has been forthright enough to state clearly that it was a Hindu marriage party that was attacked by Islamic terrorists belonging to the Hizabul Mujahideen. Thank you Mr Ahmad.

So, Hindus have been attacked again, eh? I condemn this ghastly and heinous killings. It has become a regular pattern. When shall this stop? Will it stop only when the other, normally peaceful, majority segment of the society also take to arms? Arms are not hard to come by in this age and day of arms smugglers and drug traffickers. Let us just pause for a moment and think what would happen if Hindus all over started retaliating in kind?

True, two wrongs never make a right. But, while singing this pacifying quote, aren't we simultaneously proving that it takes just one hand to molest? It's a historical fact that a country is safe and strong when the majority of its people are perceived to be strong and vigilant. Need we say more on why anybody can butcher anyone, anywhere in India and go with head held high?

It is the onus of the majority to organise society and develop a strong deterrent toward these and all other anti-social and anti-national acts. I earnestly urge one and all, more so Hindus, to unite and organise our society. No terrorism, no goondaism, no ISI shall ever dare touch our people!

Subject: Marriage party killed in Kashmir

Whatever Farooq Abdullah is saying does not make sense, while we strive to protect the Muslims in other states of India, we have Farooq's brigade totally out of control. The innocent victims are just statistical numbers to be forgotten. We need a policy like Israel against the Palestinians, we have to go for the jugular and suck it dry. Terrorists can be stopped, it is just our lame duck excuse to confront it, how come India does not send terrorists to Pakistan? We should shoot to kill and if a few innocent people are killed we have to forgive the army, police and whatever agencies are involved.

The Muslims have no need to cry for the Hindus because the new policy of the terrorists is a zero Hindu policy. Wake up BJP, send Hindu settlers with good incentives to setup homes in Kashmir, like the Israelis do in the West Bank. Release notorious Hindu criminals from jails in India and let them settle in Kashmir, just as the British sent its criminals to Australia. Regain Kashmir and let Pakistan bargain for peace.

Subject: Send more army

To weed out militants from jungles, towns and cities in Kashmir, if the central government need to send 500,000 more army men, it should be done. Enough of this problem. Seal the LOC and kill the militants. Mere words will not suffice. Don't bother about NHRC or amnesty. Nobody will come to set our house in order. We have to do it ourselves. Pakistan and militants are becoming increasingly frustrated. We have to continue the pressure and in fact increase it.

Subject: Surprise! Surprise! Pritish Nandy!

It is an interesting interview. Pritish Nandy being supported by the Shiv Sena throws light on Pritish Nandy, Shiv Sena and copy cats. Pritish Nandy is like a commercial lawyer who will fight on whatever side his client is. Pritish seemed to have changed recently, but I was wondering if the leopard has changed its dots!

Pritish is an opportunist no doubt about it, and so is the Shiv Sena. There is no real change of heart in Pritish. If he could not see the degeneration of India, what opened his eyes? The BJP, Bomb, Kashmir? They were always there. A truth for love and justice in the face of electoral politics is not acquired suddenly and it cannot be learned. Either you can be a decent person and have it or be dishonest and wear it. In the whole world, it is a historical fact -- that the majority community, even Muslims in India have been victims of electoral politics, corruption and the short sightedness of inefficient leaders. He cannot even understand the need for ID cards which is like the ABC of governance.

In any civilised, modern and industrialised country ID cards in different names are used to keep track of financial, social, medical progress and security of citizens. Of course inefficient, corrupt, opportunists and unaccountable persons can be utilised to manipulate people's lives.

Same old Hindi movie junk. Perhaps, Bollywood needs full-time thinkers to think about some good theme to produce a movie.

Subject: A boy's future

I'm an American who became involved with a young Tamil boy through Plan International. Frankly, prior to that I was unaware of the Tamil people which was my failing. I have now read a bit of your history and read descriptions of your intricate poetry. In this age where our planet is shrinking it is good that people of various backgrounds come together, and the Internet helps that.

I once threw the word Tamil into my search engine and was impressed by the Tamil presence on the Internet. Your article, which I have printed, might reveal an avenue of advancement for my foster son. Would a boy from a poor farm family have any opportunity to gain technical education? I'll send him a copy of your article.

Read the story "Would you turn down Rs 6,000,000,000?" What I think is, such people as Beni Prasad Verma should be handed out corporal punishment IN PUBLIC, to teach a lesson to people who put their own petty benefits before the country's larger good.

Subject: EXPECTED DECISION

This was an expected decision, observe the statistics -- the USA breaks all records with soaring figures. Its present economy is the best in several years and the law-makers know why? It's we people from India and other countries who are helping the economy boom, so this is not a surprise decision for me. I don't think even if India does a nuclear test again these figures of H1-visas is going to change. After all, we are paying for living here.

I realise it's hard in today's world. But married priests would never be feasible. Just imagine a sick wife, or child, or someone dying in need of the sacraments. I know this is a small occurrence, but if you were dying how would you feel?
