Often one painfully ponders over the preoccupations of our elected candidates and their scant disregard for core issues like corruption, backwardness, lack of development etc. One also struggles with the questions -- why are the good people in our society not assertive like those in the West, why are people like Mulayam, Laloo and Jayalalitha allowed to continue with their stupidities? The present government with its more principled stand has given the people a healthy alternative. I wish them the very best. Naresh P S: They should not pursue the temple issue.

Date sent: Mon, 29 Jun 1998 10:40:40 Once again you have accurately gauged the current political stalemate. The Opposition parties including the BJP's ally AAIDMK are not letting it provide a stable government. This will certainly have an impact on India's economy. We just hope that these leaders in the Opposition will show some maturity for the country's sake. Chandra Shekhar's statement is very unfortunate, his wish is just to have an unstable govt. Why? If the Congress does not have the numbers then why push them into forming another unstable govt?
Date sent: Fri, 26 Jun 1998 18:04:19 -0400 Shenoy saab, great work. Pass it to all "numbers" (Politicians who make only numbers and count only numbers and do not have any brains). What I can do right now is to give you a garland of words of appreciation for your good work, worth hundred million! Sukh
Date sent: Fri, 19 Jun 1998 14:57:55 -0500 Shenoy has brought out the roguish intentions of Mulayam, Surjeet, Pilot, Arjun and company. They have no time even to mention about the murders of Kashmiri Hindus by terrorist cowards, let alone worry about them. They are only concerned with how to wrest the power back from the BJP by making insiduous attacks and raising the bogey of Ayodhya temple. Hindu lives mean nothing to them. What a shame!
