Question of continued support still under review: Jaya

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazagham supremo J Jayalalitha today announced that the question of continued support to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre by the AIADMK-led front in Tamil Nadu was still under review.

In an informal chat with the media, she said no time-frame had been set to decide on the question.

Jayalalitha's statement indicated that she was still keeping her options open with emissaries of the so-called secular front meeting her frequently seeking her support for an alternative government.

The front had reviewed the question of continued support to the A B Vajpayee government on August 13 and authorised Jayalalitha to take an appropriate decision at an appropriate time.

BJP general secretary M Venkaiah Naidu had indicated in Madras that the relationship between the BJP and the AIADMK had improved and there was no threat of withdrawal of support to the government by the AIADMK-led front.
