TMC asks DMK not to treat it as bonded labour

The Tamil Maanila Congress today urged the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, its electoral ally, not to treat it as "bonded labour", indicating that the relations between the two parties are getting strained.

Talking to the media in Tiruchirappalli, party vice president S G Vinayaga Murthy took exception to some DMK ministers finding fault with former Union finance minister P Chidambaram's remark that the TMC would come to power in the state.

While DMK president and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had reacted to Chidambaram's remarks in a decent manner, the ministers had "irresponsible" utterances.

Expressing confidence that the relations between the DMK and the TMC would not suffer, Vinayaga Murthy said the DMK should realise that the ties between the two parties would not be affected even if the TMC came to power.
