Shravan Rathod was the less flamboyant face of the popular composer duo Nadeem-Shravan who churned out many hit numbers in the 1990s.
Shravan, who was admitted to the S L Raheja Hospital in Mumbai in a 'critical' condition a few days ago after testing positive for COVID-19, passed away 'at 10.15 pm' on Thursday, his son said. Rathod was 66.
Nadeem-Shravan gave chartbuster soundtracks in films like Aashiqui (Rahul Roy, Anu Aggarwal, 1990), Saajan(Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, 1991), Raja Hindustani (Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor, 1996) and Pardes (Shah Rukh Khan, Mahima Chaudhry, 1997).
Controversy forced Nadeem to flee London in 1997 and the duo split up, but did come together again for films like Ek Rishtaa: The Bond Of Love (Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Juhi Chawla, Karisma Kapoor, 2001), Raaz (Bipasha Basu, Dino Morea, 2002), Andaz (Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, 2003) and Barsaat (Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, 2005).
