When Akshay Kumar called him for a brief role in his upcoming film, Salman Khan gladly stepped in.
The result was the film's title song, which features the two superstars together in a single frame.
Even though four newcomers feature in the song in this Kabir Sadanand-helmed film, all eyes are on Salman and Akshay when they come together with their 'Spider Step' for Yeh Fugly Fugly Kya Hai.

Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar go back a long way.
After working together in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Jaan-E-Mann as co-stars, they came together in Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan.
While Akshay was the protagonist playing the title role, Salman shook a leg with him for the qawalli dance number Wallah Re Wallah.
When Farah Khan needed a superstar for the end credits song for Om Shanti Om, it was Salman Khan she called.
The man didn't bat an eyelid as he briefly shared the stage with Shahrukh Khan for Deewangi Deewangi.
Salman Khan went a step ahead for Ajay Devgn and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Son of Sardaar.
Not only did he dance to a song (Po Po), he also appeared in a small part in the film.
Another example of Salman making himself available for a friend was Preity Zinta's Ishkq In Paris.
While Preity did an item number in Salman's Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, the superstar returned the favour by dancing to the tune of Kudiye Di Kurti in Zinta's first home production.
Salman was also a part of Tell Me O Khuda, Esha Deol's comeback film.
He agreed to feature in a dance number titled Touch My Body along side Esha in Dharmendra and Hema Malini's Tell Me O Khuda.
The song also happens to be one of the most under-promoted Salman numbers ever.
Salman responded promptly to Dev Anand's summons to feature in his Love at Times Square.
Though Salman just had a song-n-dance appearance in the film, his face was plastered all over the posters of the film.
The song Aaja Aaja was not bad for its time, but hardly anyone saw the video as the film sank without a trace.
Salman has stayed loyal to his directors, case in point being Rajkumar Santoshi, who gave him a cult comedy like Andaz Apna Apna.
When he was requested to step in for a scene in Azab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, Salman agreed immediately.
Incidentally, the scene featured Ranbir Kapoor and Salman's former girlfriend Katrina Kaif.
Phata Poster Nikla Hero had one of the best cameo sequences featuring a superstar.
Audiences were in splits when Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz rode in parallel to Salman Khan's car in the film.
The actor did quite well in this hilarious sequence, which was the best part of this Rajkumar Santoshi film.
Salman's face was all over the posters of brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri's Hello too.
While the film belonged to other actors, Salman's music video on the title song was the only thing from the film that caught on.
The Jai Ho actor made an extended appearance in Arbaaz Khan's Prem Ka Game. He starred in a music video and featured intermittently in the film.
The much delayed film sank without a trace after a haphazardly put together release.
Atul Agnihotri's O Teri suffered a similar fate.
Salman featured in the title song of this Pulkit Samrat-Bilal Amrohi film, but the video didn't leave much of an impression.
A decade back, Raveena Tandon's debut film as a producer, Stumped, was released.
Salman Khan's appearance in one of the film's songs was far from impressive too.
Not many heard or saw the song titled Meri Stumping Ho Gayi.
One of Salman Khan's better cameo appearances was in Sirf Tum.
Though Sanjay Kapoor was the leading man in the film, Salman featured in an important sequence where he asked for Priya Gill's hand in marriage.
Those were his Hum Aapke Hain Kaun mode and the good luck probably rubbed off on Sirf Tum too.
Salman was requested to make a brief appearance as himself in Sooraj Barjatya's Issi Life Mein.
He was required to make a surprise phone call to the film's leading lady, Sandeepa Dhar, who was his fan, and wish her Happy Birthday.
One of Salman's best (and most surprising) cameos was in Deewana Mastana.
Even as the film's heroes -- Anil Kapoor and Govinda (as well as the audience) -- wondered who Juhi Chawla would choose as her bridegroom, director David Dhawan stumped them all by revealing Salman Khan as her secret love!
The courtroom scene of 'Dost Hain!' still evokes much laughter.
