With top actresses like Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor doing item numbers in movies now, the 'real' item girl seems to have gone missing.
We take a look at the women we'd like to see on screen again, in a rocking item number.
Yana Gupta
Even though Yana Gupta has featured in quite a few item numbers the only one she'll ever probably be known for is her first, Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo, in Dum.
Since then, she's kept herself busy in reality TV shows, and an upcoming English music album.
But we'd love to see her do an item encore again.
The last time we saw Rakhi Sawant in an item number was in 2008's Krazzy 4 song, Dekhta Hai Tu Kya.
The song was good, Rakhi's thumkas even better.
Like Yana, Rakhi has gone the telly way, signing up for more and more reality shows.
Kashmira started her career as an actress with small roles in films like Yes Boss and Jungle. Later, she shifted to item numbers like Jawani Se Ab Jung in Vaastav and Chalka Chalka in Aankhen.

A popular telly bahu, Barkha took off her ghoonghat to do an item song in Prakash Jha's Raajneeti (called Ishq Barsein).
She showed us she could dance, and we'd like to see more of her.
