Arbaaz Khan's IPL rant

Arbaaz Khan, like the rest of India, is an avid cricket lover, and is quite updated about the IPL auction.

'Uncapped players have an unfair deal at the IPL auction. The max a player can get is 30 lacs according 2 the number of seasons he has played. That means a player as good as manish pandey goes for only 20 lacs and saurav tiwary goes for 7.36 cr. How ridiculous !' he tweeted.

His rant continued with: 'Uncapped players 2 should be auctioned , in any case each team has a purse on only $9m. Who is anybody to decide a players worth. Rubbish !! Just because saurav tiwary got 2 play an ODI match he get a heavy contract of 7.36cr. Manish pandey surely deserves more. Say wot ?'

He also had a suggestion for the IPL: 'Maybe it makes sense to auction capped players first but what remains in the purse can be used to buy uncapped players too in an auction.. Bottom line, IPL should be treated as an open market where each player decides his worth and risks getting picked or not.'

And he didn't stop there: 'Imagine the potential corruption that can take place in the selection of players now that its understood that the are worth more when capped. Players will be given international caps on tours of bangladesh and zimbabwe so that they can command high prices at IPL. Its all a big mess.'

Stars pay tribute to Vivek Shauq

Bollywood paid their condolences to actor Vivek Shauq, who passed away on January 10 at the age of 47.

Akshay Kumar, who had worked with the actor in Andaaz, wrote: 'This is a message, actually its more of a request, for all those who have had the pleasure in knowing & watching Vivek Shauq to whom we lovingly & respectfully say goodbye for he is sadly no more...'

The actor seemed shocked by his sudden demise. 'I was shocked but even more i was so saddened when i got the call this morning, Vivek was not only a great colleague but a dear friend of mine who lived only to make people laugh, it almost feels selfish to think i will miss a man 4 making me laugh, but he did, his life was so much about other people's happiness.'

Akki also sent his love and prayers to Shauq's family: 'To think he was so young also, i will say this now & always please take care of yourself & ur family's health, we are nothing without it, as sad as it is that my friend has passed away, it is only his family i feel so much for right now. My love & prayers go out to all his loved ones, i will miss u my friend.'

Bollywood gives NOKJ thumbs up

The much pregnant Konkona Sen Sharma praised No One Killed Jessica on twitter: 'Really liked No One Killed Jessica!'
