When Pran called up Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan ‏was recently taken by surprise when veteran actor Pran called him up to just hear his voice.

'Pran Saheb, veteran legendary colleague, called the other day .. 'just had not heard your voice for long' said he and shut the phone,' he tweeted.

'Many are not aware that though Pran Saheb played the villain to perfection, he had great sense of humour and poetry .. !' he added further.

It was Pran who recommended Amitabh Bachchan to Prakash Mehra for the character of Vijay in Zanjeer, which was earlier offered to Dev Anand and Dharmendra but was rejected by them.  He has acted with Amitabh in 14 films. 

With thousands of Mumbaikars, Bollywood joined the colourful Ganpati visarjan processions across Mumbai.

Ameesha Patel who kept an idol of Ganpati at her office shared a picture and tweeted: 'Me with ganeshji..just before visarjan...' 

Meanwhile, Vivek Oberoi went for the Visarjan of Girgaon Raja and shared a picture from there.

Neil Nitin Mukesh ‏tweeted: 'The morning after visarjan is generally so quiet. There is a silence at home that tells us, "wait another year for Him to come back."'

Prabhudeva ‏wrote: 'Ganpati Bappa will stay in our hearts always.Come back soon bappa to bless us with love and happiness next year.'

Vishal Dadlani tweeted: 'The Ganesh Visarjan in Bombay beats ANY street party in the world! The energy is UNREAL!!'
