When Jack Sparrow and Co. became Samundar Ke Lutere

Jack Sparrow is making a comeback this week with the fourth installment of the Pirates of The Caribbean series and we couldn't have been more psyched.

But while a majority of us hang onto every remark that escapes Jack Sparrows mouth, there are others who struggle to keep up with the goings on in the film because the 'strange' accents gets the better of them.

To counter that problem (and to reach out to a wider audience, of course), some Hollywood films are dubbed in Hindi. And that's not it. The films are also given Hindi titles.

While watching a white guy go 'You gotta watch your a** buddy' in Hindi is a royal treat, there have been movies whose Hindi titles get more chuckles than comic punches of at least three comedy movies put together.

With Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides releasing in Hindi as Samunder Ke Lutere Retans, we decided to recount notable others from the past that have stayed with us.

Raftar Ka Junoon (Fast And Furious 5)

What better way to capture the essence of the sleek and hugely popular Fast and Furious series than the word Raftar?

Although it does make the movie sound like it's about a case of road rage gone out of hands.

Mayajaal (The Matrix Reloaded)

If we hadn't seen the movie before we came across this title, we'd surely have taken The Matrix to be an exorcism story, only shabbily told.

From a mind-bending visual stunner to a rustic tale of ancient Voodoo and black magic. Do you see the connection? We don't.

Mr and Mrs Sharma (Mr and Mrs Smith)

This one atleast tries to make sense out of the real title. You have to give it to the creator who was sensible enough to place Hollywood stars into an Indian milieu.

And various Sharma households across the country must have surely indulged in wishful thinking. If you know what we mean.

Maut Ka Chumma (Kiss Of The Dragon)

Wish they'd found the exact Hindi word for Dragon. This could be so much more fun.

Ek Gaadi Do Anadi (Dude, Where's My Car?)

Atleast they got the bit about the main leads being anadi right.

Dil Phenk Haseena (Heartbreakers)

So the Hindi title gives away what the English one doesn't. That's probably because a hassena who's also dilphenk will draw more crowd.

It's like icing on the cake, sirjee.

Museum Ke Andar Phas Gaya Sikandar (A Night At The Museum)

Looks like while trying to come up with a Hindi title for the film, they forgot about it and instead made a limerick.

Sherni No 1 (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider)

Now this title is more suited for Angelina Jolie in real life than her character in this film.

Balle Balle Amritsar To LA (Bride And Prejudice)

Gurinder Chaddha Punjabified the single thing that spelt global in the film, it's name.
