The man who made Udaan is back.
Vikramaditya Motwane's lovely, soothing trailer for Lootera seems to have gotten old-world charm just right. Sun-struck pages flutter under a fountain pen and a boy asks a girl what she's writing. She tells him it's a story and he — we see Ranveer Singh sitting by the motorcycle he's fallen down from — asks if there's a boy in it. And, as the trailer progresses and we see Sonakshi Sinha at her most coy, he asks if it's a story of a boy and girl in love.
She disagrees, and the visuals get more dramatic. He asks if it's a story where the boy and girl are going to fall in love. This, from the trailer, seems likelier.
Set in Calcutta and Dalhousie, the period film certainly looks and sounds beautiful. The film releases on the 5th of July and right now it feels like one worth waiting for.
