There was no dearth of entertainment on television this year especially when it came to reality shows.
With Bollywood jumping in the TV bandwagon, the battle for the highest TRP got a whole lot fiercer.

Amitabh Bachchan, Kaun Banega Crorepati 4
Amitabh Bachchan made his first appearance on television in 2000 with Kaun Banega Crorepati. The show was hugely popular and attracted audiences of all ages.
In KBC Season 4, Bachchan, with his signature line, "Namaskar Main Amitabh Bachchan bol raha hoon, Kaun Banega Crorepati se," created the same magic with his charismatic style.
Always able to connect with the common man, Big B continues to rule the small-screen TRP.
Koffee With Karan is all about Karan Johar's interaction with his guests. He asks them cheeky and controversial questions and, sometimes, they respond with equally cheeky and controversial answers.
In fact, Karan recently found himself in hot water with Rishi Kapoor when his hosts Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor ribbed his son Ranbir Kapoor on the show.
Karan Johar is unperturbed though, and looks game for another rapid fire round.
Its been a rocking year for Bollywod's bad boy.
After Dabangg's success, Salman replaced Amitabh Bachchan as the host of Bigg Boss 4. While Amitabh was all polish and grace, Salman was full on bindaas with his impromptu jigs and candid humour.
Plus, the guy can flirt, and how!
With Priyanka taking over from Akshay Kumar and the location moving to the Brazil, Fear Factor generated a lot of enthusiasm in the run-up to the season premiere.
Not surprisingly, Priyanka single-handedly added the glam factor, but she also proved she was almost as tough as action star Akshay.
That said, the first few episodes were kind of dull as there was no chemistry between Priyanka and the contestants. She gamely rallied on, though, and for that we salute her.
Who better to judge a cooking show than a former chef?
Akshay's stint as a cook in Bangkok came in handy when he had to judge the participants' cooking skills.
Akshay walked a fine line between friendly and critical. He was also very dramatic, which was sometimes very nerve wracking.
The Big Money concept was unique, and gave us a light-hearted show where the participants didn't have to brainstorm much.
Madhavan came across as friendly and spontaneous. He also has a good screen presence.
His pleasing smile added to his charisma.
Hussain Kuwajerwala and Mini Mathur have taken Indian Idol to another level with their unmatched style.
In season five, Kuwajerwala teamed up with Abhijeet for another awesome innings.
Jai Bhanushali started his career playing a lover boy in Kayamath.
He co-hosted Zee TV's popular show Dance India Dance for two seasons alongside the beautiful Saumya Tandon.
MTV and VJs Ayushman Khurrana and Nikhil Chinappa were retained as the hosts for the second season of India's Got Talent.
And why not? They shared a rocking chemistry which made the show very entertaining.
Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega 3 is a competition-based variety entertainment reality show. It features all kinds of talent be it singing, dancing; stunts, acrobatics, comedy or acting. Anything, really!
And hosting this eclectic show were Jassi Jaise Koi Nahi star Mona and Vishal Malhotra. The two can yak non-stop, and sometimes even stole the show with their constant chatter!
Last but not the least is Rakhi Sawant who plays problem solver on the show.
Knowing Rakhi, it wasn't long before the show grabbed headlines when a case was filed against her for instigating the suicide of one of the participants.
The show also received numerous complaints from viewers and women outfits about indecent content, which prompted the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to asked channel to air the show only between 11pm to 5am.
