Salman Khan is ready with his new film, the highly-anticipated Bodyguard.

After his successful run at the box office, there's quite a buzz about the new film and trade pundits are already predicting a huge opening weekend for it.

Salman plays a bodyguard to Kareena Kapoor, in this action-packed masala movie.

But how do you think Salman will compare to actors, who have played bodyguards before -- right from Amitabh Bachchan to Sallu's rival Shah Rukh Khan?

Amitabh Bachchan in Ek Ajnabee

Amitabh Bachchan plays retired armyman Suryaveer Singh, who's assigned the task of protecting eight-year-old Anamika.

He's initially indifferent and unreceptive to Anamika's efforts to get him to talk and to befriend him but gradually warms up to her, helping her with swimming lessons as well.

Dressed in sharp suits, that mop of hair lining his forehead and stylish glares, Amitabh makes a dashing bodyguard.

Shah Rukh Khan in Main Hoon Na

Shah Rukh Khan armyman Ram Prasad Sharma poses as a student at a college, following orders by his senior to protect his daughter (Amrita Rao). He's unwelcome at first, and stands out. But later, wins everybody over with his simple ways and bravery.

He even finds love in the hot Chemistry teacher.

Amitabh Bachchan in Eklavya: The Royal Guard

Amitabh, once again, played the protector of a dynasty that no longer exists in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film Eklavya: The Royal Guard.

Caught in a time warp, he lives with the sole purpose of protecting his fort and the king. His loyalty and bravery are unflinching and the stuff legends are made of.

Mithun Chakraborty in Agneepath

Mithun Chakraborty plays the comical but brave coconut vendor named Krishnan Iyer MA. He gets appointed by Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (Bachchan) as his sister Siksha's (Neelam) bodyguard.

Mithun won the Filmfare award for the best supporting actor for this film.

Vinod Khanna in Jurm

Vinod Khanna plays the upright cop in this film and is appointed to protect the beautiful Sangeeta Bijlani, who's a witness in a murder case.

Nana Patekar in Ghulam-e-Mustafa

Nana Patekar plays a hitman who's given the job of getting a middle-class family to vacate their house. But he ends up protecting them from the very people who hired him.

Sunny Deol in Angarakshak

Brawny Sunny Deol plays bodyguard to Pooja Bhatt's Priyanka, daughter of a notorious and wealthy politician and the two, as is inevitable, fall in love.

Venkatesh in Anari

Venkatesh is village simpleton who's appointed as bodyguard to the only sister (Karisma Kapoor) of the village zamindars to protect her from marrying the wrong guy.

All hell breaks lose when the bodyguard himself marries her unwittingly.
