Vaadamalli is a thriller with new faces

Alberrt Antoni, who directed the award-winning movie Kanne Madanguka and has announced the magnum opus Nair San with Jackie Chan and Mohanlal, is ready with a thriller featuring a handful of fresh actors in the lead, titled Vaadamalli.

The film is about a missing girl, a drug smuggler and a music lover.

Produced by Sunil Chandrika Nair of Zoe Estebe Moviez, the cast includes Rahul Madhav, Richa Panai, Remesh Raveendran, Niji Mary, Pradeep Chandran, Jyothi Chatterji and Raveendran, Bijukkutan among others.

According to the director, the story develops 'through campus, music, road and backwaters'.

The setting of the story is the Beethoven High-tech Music College where Sandesh Veerendra, Vrinda Nambiar and Renuka are students in this college.

Vasu Damodar is a notorious drug smuggler. These characters accidentally get involved in some incidents that happen in the campus.

The story takes an unexpected twist when Siddharth who settled in US, comes to the campus."

Rahul, who is originally from Mangalore but has lived in Kozhikode for many years, says, "I've grown up watching and idolising films of superstars like Mammootty and Mohanlal. I am looking forward to do more roles in Malayalam."

Richa Panai, who is popular in the state thanks to a popular jewellery ad featuring her says, "I loved shooting for the film. The whole unit consisted mostly of youngsters and it was fun."

Vaidy S Pillai is the cinematographer while Raja Mohammed is the editor and Shyam is the music director.

Journalists Rajesh Varma and Laser Shine have scripted the film that has been shot in various locations including Kochi, Thrissur, Kuttanandu, Alapuzha, Chalakkudi, Iringalakuda, Fort Kochi, Aathirapilli and Munnar

Vaadamalli releases on the 27th of May.
