Bigg Boss's Sapna: Salman is a male chauvinist
Last updated on: January 7, 2013 15:46 IST
The 41-year-old celebrity hairstylist, who survived the maximum nominations, was evicted from the Bigg Boss house just a week before the finale of the reality show.
The elimination does not seem to sadden Sapna Bhavnani, who says she was extremely happy to be out of the house finally.
Sapna's unannounced spurts of madness kept everyone in the house entertained. During her stay in the house, she gave almost everyone a haircut and a makeover, making the housemates look young and rejuvenated.
She did not spare the host Salman Khan either, and so the superstar ensured he ignored her.
Sapna speaks to Rajul Hegde about her stint in the house.
How was your experience in the Bigg Boss house?
It was good but could have been better. Towards the end, it started getting claustrophobic. It's a different experience and I am satisfied with my stay.
'I was never there for the prize money'

You have said that you were not on the show for the prize money. So what was the attraction?
Yes, I was never there for the prize money. People from the show were after me for quite some time. My mom finally convinced me that people like me need to be on television and show that we exist. Otherwise, women on TV just have long hair, wear pink saris, cook food and do not speak their mind.
I thought that Alag Che was the concept and would have wanted one of my role models to win the show. I would have wanted either Aseem Trivedi or Sampath to win, but they were evicted.
What did you think of Salman Khan as a host?
Salman is a male chauvinist.
He encouraged acts (pick up lines), of male contestants like Rajev Paul, Vishal Karwal and Santosh Shukla, which as a host he should have condemned.
He could have stood up for women who were being ridiculed in the show.
Why was the most abusive fight that took place between Imam Siddique and Rajev left untouched by Salman? He should have raised that issue, but he skipped it. He neither talked about the fight, nor asked Rajev to apologise for his abusive words.
'Salman and I had a tiff when he didn't accept that I had not come here for the prize money'

You had a verbal spat with Salman?
People find it hard to believe that someone is very much content with their life and doesn't want anything extra.
If I wanted to make money, there were lots of opportunities. Many corporates wanted to buy my brand and gave me offers to open my salon across 50 centres. If I needed money, I could have got much more than the Rs 50 lakh that they (Bigg Boss) are offering.
We had a tiff when he didn't accept that I had not come here for the prize money.
Salman is not God. His profession is acting, while my profession is haircutting.
He is just a few years older than I so I talk to him as I would with any other human being.
Who is the person that you disliked in the house?
Rajev said 40-plus women have less or no options. He does not even know how to talk to women.
Once he comes out of the house, 40+ women, lesbian and hijra community should come forward and beat the shit out of him.
And I will join them, as I couldn't beat him up in the house.
'Rajev's behaviour towards Delnaaz was disrespectful'
Last updated on: January 7, 2013 15:46 IST
What about Delnaaz?
Rajeev's behaviour towards Delnaaz was disrespectful. He misbehaves with her, tells her he is coming back to her because he has no option, and she still takes it.
Is this the message you want to give your viewers?
This drama was getting too much for me. I just hope she doesn't win. She is a good woman, but if she wins, it would be a really weak woman winning the show.
And Sana Khan?
Sana has no personality. She is playing a Pati, Patni aur Woh game. She knows that being attached to a guy always will not only help her to survive in the house but can also help her to win the title.
'Normal people bore the shit out of me'
Last updated on: January 7, 2013 15:46 IST
Your equation with Imam Siddique kept changing.
In the beginning I had fights but slowly I realised that he is not fake. I got to know that we are just the same madman and madwoman.
I thank him for bringing madness back into my life. Normal people bore the shit out of me.
How did you stay calm in the house?
I was insulted so many times by Imam, Sana, Rajev, but I am surprised at myself that I never retorted. I kept thinking what would Dhoni have done in such a situation? Dhoni was my secret.
Who would you bet on as the winner?
Niketan Madhok has played the game well and has been neutral.
