As part of its Zeitgist survey for top searches in the year 2011, Google released the list of the most searched movies in India.
Here's looking at the movies that made it to the list:
1. Bodyguard
Just like the poster indicates, Salman Khan was everywhere this year making his legions of fans swoon with not one but two blockbusters.
But Bodyguard was in a league of its own. With over Rs 150 crore in box office collections, the film earned the distinction of becoming the highest opener of all time across India.
No wonder then, that the film was also the most searched film in India.
Shah Rukh Khan's let's-hound-the-media-until-they-can't-take-it-anymore promotional strategy for his ambitious project Ra.One worked in the film's favour in the end.
It was the second most searched film on the search engine even as SRK failed to match the spectacular figures of his arch-rival Salman Khan's Bodyguard.
The Harry Potter franchise was apparently a big draw with net surfers too as the last film -- Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows 2 -- came out, marking the end of a decade old journey with the young wizard and his magical world.
Credited with bringing toilet humour to the mainstream and with much success, Aamir Khan-produced Delhi Belly caused much uproar for 'inappropriate' songs and was lapped up by the multiplex audiences.
An item number featuring Aamir as the end credits rolled was an added treat.
Ajay Devgn's muscle-flexing, do-gooder inspector Singham was a huge draw at the box office.
While many called it a spin-off of Salman's Dabangg, the audiences just couldn't care less as they enjoyed watching a buff Devgn flip cars and fight baddies in the film.
Another Salman Khan-starrer comedy Ready hit the marquee with a vengeance and was a huge hit.
Another most-talked about film from the bad boy of Bollywood.
Tamil actor Ajith Kumar's 50th film featuring him in a lead role was much awaited by his fans.
Mankatha proved to be a commercial hit and received positive reviews from critics too.
What was so special about the third Transformers film that it made it to the list?
Perhaps Rosie Huntington Whitely is the answer to it. The third film in the popular franchise had the Victoria Secret model replace Megan Fox as Shia Lebouf's love interest.
And our guess is that the fans just got curious.
Telugu action comedy film Dookudu was the ninth most searched film this year in India.
All the hype around it wasn't just hot air. The film made a whopping Rs 70 crore in its first week of release and lead actor Mahesh Babu really shined through.
Zoya Akhtar's buddy film made headlines for it's theme and a fresh treatment.
Beautful places, beautiful faces and a bright message, coaxing young people to live in the moment sealed the deal for this one.
