It’s not wedding season but everyone’s in a shaadi mood, thanks to Friday release, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, starring Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan.
Shaadi movies do quite well in Bollywood, and that’s a proven fact.
But how well do Shaadi titles do?
We decided to look back at movies with the word ‘Shaadi’ in the title, and see how well they did at the box office.

Mujhse Shaadi Karogi

Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra laughed, danced, pulled each other's leg and generally had a lot of fun in this David Dhawan film.
Mujhse Shaadi Karogi was an enjoyable 'shaadi' entertainer, without getting into the Barjatya mode.

Shaadi Se Pehle

Akshaye Khanna, who was popular then, had some sugar (Ayesha Takia) and spice (Mallika Sherawat) in his life but the final dish wasn’t so tasty.

Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar

The film was pitched as a family comedy, and even Salman’s charm -- and extensive promotion -- did not save the film.

Shaadi No 1

Moreover, he paired up with his favourite director David Dhawan.
The film starred many actors like Sanjay Dutt, along with Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan, Sharman Joshi, Esha Deol, Soha Ali Khan, Ayesha Takia, Riya Sen, Aarti Chhabria and Sophie Choudry, but still received a thumbs down.

Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai

Uday Chopra and Jimmy Shergill came together to woo Tulip Joshi, who got a dream debut with this film.
Bipasha Basu was just starting out in the movie business, and hence was willing to play a supporting role in a YRF production.
The film had all the ingredients of a 'shaadi' movie and audience lapped it up.

Shaadi Ka Laddoo

The film was directed by her husband Raj Kaushal, and was entertaining only in parts.
Nigar Khan’s item number Chal Hat was one of the film’s few highlights.

Chameli Ki Shaadi

Meri Biwi Ki Shaadi
