What Charlie Sheen, Raja Chaudhary have in common
Sometimes celebrities just plain lose it. And unfortunately for them, this always happens in full public view. Here's a look at a few men over the last few years -- two from the last month, in fact -- who have shot their mouth off on camera and are living to regret it.
Charlie Sheen
It all started with Sheen's rant against Two And A Half Men creator Chuck Lorre, where he accused the massively successful television producer of incompetence and favouritism.
The show was halted, and Sheen went into a barrage of crazy interviews, his mind unravelling faster than the astonished twitterverse could react to it.
Now the 45-year-old finds himself out of a massively high-paid gig and looks more mental by the second.
John Galliano
The celebrated head designer at the Dior fashion house from 1997 to February 2011, Galliano was axed immediately after a video surfaced showing a drunken Galliano being highly anti-semitic and professing his love for Hitler.
The fashion house and celebrity brand ambassadors like Natalie Portman have expressed disgust at the video, and the world seems to have distanced itself from the celebrity.
Raja Chowdhary
Most recently arrested by the cops last November for beating up his girlfriend Shraddha Sharma, Bhojpuri actor Raja Chaudhary's shown quite a predilection for being drunk and disorderly.
Earlier, he had rallied against his ex-wife Shweta Tiwari across various news channels, and even managed to leverage this 'image' to good effect in reality show Bigg Boss.
Mel Gibson
It's hard to know where to start with Gibson, a known homophobe and holocaust-denier who imploded in 2006 when, arrested for driving drunk, he let fly a sexist, profane and markedly anti-semitic rant against the cops, which effectively killed his career in Hollywood instantly.
More recently, a recording of a phone call between him and girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva showed Gibson's alarmingly violent side.
Michael Richards
Best known for playing the wildly eccentric Cosmo Kramer on television phenomenon Seinfeld, Richards was performing stand-up comedy in California when he turned viciously on a pair of black hecklers.
Richards was appallingly racist, going as far as to use the N-word, and there was much outcry about the matter. He has apologised several times since.
