Watch: When actresses took to waterfalls in films

For an average Indian Bollywood buff, what images would a waterfall conjure? Think wet saris, picturesque surroundings and a young belle frolicking in the water, singing songs about youth and love.

Who can forget the famous scene from Raj Kapoor's Satyam Shivam Sundaram where a nubile village girl is bathing in a waterfall?

There are many instances where actresses have ditched dancing around trees and instead have done song sequences ranging from playful to seductive but let's start with Zeenat Aman.

Zeenat Aman plays a skimpily clad village belle. The song had the actress bathing playfully under a waterfall as leading man Shashi Kapoor enjoys the view from a distance.

Mandakini in Ram Teri Ganga Maili


Another of Raj Kapoor's films, Ram Teri Ganga Maili had fair-skinned Mandakini, a girl from the hills, clad in a white sari and singing with abandon as she catches city boy Rajiv Kapoor's fancy.
