Two superstars are ready with their big films for a Dassehra release -- Nagarjuna and Pawan Kalyan will be in the fray with Damarukam and Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu (CGR).

Pawan's CGR is confirmed for release on October 18, and Damarukam is slated to release on October 20. Here's a look at what's on offer:

Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu (CGR)

Cast: Pawan Kalyan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Prakash Raj

Director: Puri Jagannadh

Puri Jagannadh and Pawan Kalyan team up for CGR after a gap of 12 years. Their last film together was Badri in 2000.

Expectations are high as Pawan's film Gabbar Singh, which released six months ago, was a runaway hit.

CGR is produced by Danayya and it is Puri Jagannadh's 25th directorial venture.

"I had first narrated this script to Ravi Teja four years ago. He remarked that Pawan Kalyan would suit the role and it would be a hit if done with him. The role and content made Kalyan agree to it. Prakash Raj also felt it was a genuine script," says Puri Jagannadh.

"It's about the problems Rambabu (Kalyan), who plays a reporter, faces. The media will be proud of this film. Kalyan's performance will be the highlight. CGR is a mass film and will be entertaining," adds Jagan.

"It's a thrill to do a film with Kalyan. He enjoyed the dubbing too," says producer Danayya.

Tamannaah Bhatia plays the role of cameraman (the reason for calling it so will be explained in the film, says Jagannadh).

She is teaming up with the Puri-Pawan combo for the first time. "Both Kalyan and Tamannaah will get awards for their performance," predicts Jagan.

Prakash Raj plays Rana Babu, the antagonist.

The comedians in the film are Brahmanandam, Ali, and Dharmavarapu Subramanyam.

The music is composed by Mani Sharma to Bhaskara Bhatla's lyrics. Shyam K Naidu is the cinematographer and S R Sekhar does the editing.

Damarukam

Cast: Akkineni Nagarjuna, Prakash Raj, Anushka Shetty, Ganesh Venkatraman

Director: Srinivas Reddy

Damarukam is a 'social fantasy' which is said to be full of breathtaking visuals and special effects. In fact the delay in releasing the film is due to the computer graphics and special effects.

It is a lavish production and described as Nagarjuna's costliest film.

Dr Venkat of RR Movie Makers is the producer of Damarukam.

The film is part mythological (dealing with Lord Shiva) and part contemporary.

"Damarukam is about an asura who gets up after a deep slumber on Doomsday in 2012. What he does forms part of the story. It's interesting and like the Chandamama and Amar Chitra Katha stories," said Nagarjuna.

Prakash Raj plays Shiva. Anushka is paired opposite Nagarjuna. Ganesh Venkatraman plays the antagonist who has shades to his character. Charmee does an item song with Nagarjuna titled Sakku bhai.

The film is high on computer graphics with 70 minutes of special effects.

Devisriprasad is the music director, Ashok handles art, Chota K Naidu is the cinematographer and Gautham Raju edits the film.
