After Shri Hari Kathe, director Dayal Padmanabhan is to release Yograj But! a film based on the life of his good friend Vimal.

"He was a very close friend and a lively person. His death came as a rude shock and I often wondered why death knocked so early at his doorstep. I also started asking myself why such good people face death that early. It was these thoughts that led me to make the film. In fact, in the film, you will see my characters encounter God and pose him such questions," says Dayal.

He is quick to add that God in this film will be shown in a contemporary avatar. Suchendra Prasad plays the role.

This concept is layered between the love story of the film's main protagonist Yograj (Naveen Krishna). He is an astrologer who falls in love with Sihi, an orphan who is trying to stand on her own feet.

The two meet just before Sihi is scheduled to go abroad for an administrative training programme. Even as Yograj gets ready to propose to Sihi, an untoward incident takes place and this forms the crux of the film.

Giving more insights into both the film and his character Yograj, Naveen Krishna says, "My character in the film is a psychology student. But as not many people are ready for counselling when in trouble, he mixes astrology with psychology and advises people accordingly. The film is about the fate of an astrologer who goes about revealing the fate of others!"

But does this 'astrologer' believe in astrology? "I just believe in my talent. But my mom does consult astrologers and since it gives her happiness, I follow her instructions and do what she asks me to."

Getting back to the film, he says a scene where he reels of the names of 78 Kannada film heroes, is among the highlights.

What Naveen is also kicked about is the fact that he gets to share screen space with his father and veteran actor Sreenivasa Murthy.

"Until his entry, the film looks like a simple love story. After he enters the scene, the story takes a scary turn," he says.

Sreenivasa Murthy will be seen rendering dialogues from the super-hit film Kaviratna Kalisdasa, in which he had played Bhojaraja. In this film though, he is a sanyasi.

The cast also includes Tharun Sudheer in the role of the God of Death, Yama. Patre Ajith, Sihi Kahi Chandru and Geetha will be seen in prominent roles.

Milind Dharmasena is the music director. Rakesh is the cinematographer and the story is by Dayal.

Like every team, the crew of Yograj But! is also promising different and unlimited entertainment.
